Josh Sherer, Head Coach

Josh Sherer is entering his 4th season as Head Men’s Basketball coach of Wesley College.
He is in his second year as the Athletic Director and his third year as the Dean of students.

His tenure at Wesley College has consisted of an overall record of 59-47, NCCAA South Region record of 46-7 with one NCCAA South Regional Championship and two consecutive NCCAA National Tournament bids.

Sherer was born and raised in the Jackson, MS metropolitan area. He graduated from Hillcrest Christian School in 1996 where he lettered 4 years in Football, Basketball and Baseball. In 2003, Hillcrest inducted Sherer in the Sports Hall of Fame.

Following high school, Coach Sherer accepted a scholarship to play baseball at Hinds Community College. After Hinds, He accepted the call from God to attend Wesley College, where he played one season of basketball before stepping into ministry. Sherer graduated from Wesley in 2001 with a Pastoral Studies degree.

Josh Sherer has a great passion to produce a culture of growing leaders. He spends his life investing in the future of young men and women.

Josh has been married to Leah (Wells) Sherer for 8 years, and they have two girls (Isabella- 6, Addyson-3) and are expecting a baby in April 2009.
